Benchmarks: Just Cause 2

Using the Just Cause 2 built-in benchmark nosotros recorded a minute of the "Dark Belfry" level. Just Crusade 2 was non featured in our offset round of testing, so we are not sure how the GeForce GTX 400 performed with previous driver builds.

Nvidia is claiming a nice 25% performance boost with the new GeForce 257.15 beta drivers, so we were expecting proficient things. Instead we saw the GeForce GTX 480 lagging behind the Radeon Hd 5870 with a 14% average frame rate reward. The minimum frame issue was almost a match however. The GeForce GTX 480 was ~7% faster than the Radeon Hard disk 5850, while over again the GeForce GTX 470 performance was disappointing with an average of only 33fps.

Update (half dozen/v): In our get-go run of this benchmark we unintentionally disregarded two Nvidia-specific settings that are bachelor in Only Cause ii (Bokeh Filters and GPU Water Simulation). These CUDA features are enabled by default when selecting the 'Loftier' preset and thus impacted functioning making for an unfair comparison against the ATI Radeon boards.

The graphs to a higher place have been updated to show apples vs. apples comparing, and the difference is very obvious. The GeForce GTX 480 now dominates this game by a disarming margin, while the GTX 470 fares much ameliorate against the Radeon Hard disk drive 5850, albeit withal losing by a couple frames per second.

Our original graphs with CUDA featured turned on (Nvidia boards only) tin can be found hither and here. If y'all are wondering what these effects wait like when turned on, check out this video on Youtube.
